may i suggest: make a call

san francisco: take the 22 muni bus  to sacramento and fillmore to the marc jacobs store and have a laugh at the greedy republican display window. after you've thought about it for a moment, call your parents and urge them to vote obama.

may i suggest: city hall people watching

san francisco: navigate to the corner of van ness and grove to find yourself surrounded by city hall, the ballet, and the symphony. take notice of all the beautiful buildings and the types of people around you. if old people aren't your thing, I suggest you avoid the area entirely.

may i suggest: looking up

when you're walking to wherever it is you go again, spend some time looking up at the buildings around you. take notice to patterns and details, windows and escape routes. make sure no one is trying to escape while you're doing it, they're likely to land on your face.

may i suggest: window walking

explore a road less traveled that is full of old shops, dodgey salons, and street flotsam. take notice of all the hidden bits and things in the windows. As a warning, these places can sometimes be quite seedy so don't be surprised if you run into loony and nefarious types.

may i suggest: quebec libre!

san francisco: navigate to the embarcadero center where you'll find an enormous industrial water sculpture called "quebec libre!" Climb and play around a while.  Careful not to fall in and hit your head on some rusty square thing gushing with cold liquids.

may i suggest: a twin peaks sunrise

san francisco: take a taxi to the top of twin peaks at dawn and watch the sunrise over san francisco. if you're expecting a taxi to just show up to take you down, you're really screwed.

may i suggest: making fun of yourself

mac users: experiment with lighting and different effects in photo booth to create masterful creations and super ugly versions of yourself. Don't worry. It's not -that- narcissistic.

may i suggest: shadow play

during broad daylight or in the evening hours, search for shadows in unexpected places. this is especially fun during a cold and foggy san francisco night. because cold and foggy san francisco nights usually suck.

may i suggest: late night office fun

hang out at your office after hours just to explore your surroundings deeper and maybe draw things on the white board. who knows what little subtleties you may unconver. but don't go snooping where you don't belong because that's just creepy and you'll get fired.

may i suggest: a very steep hill

san francisco: navigate to broadway and taylor and you will find an enormous hill. walk up the stairs or up the sidewalk, either way it is going to suck. when you get to the top, climb on the ledge and look out. seriously though, do not fall. you will destroy your face.

may i suggest: a big robot

san francisco: go to the address at 2835 broadway and cross the street so you can see the house in front of you at full view. take notice of the giant robot  clinching his fists and staring down at you. he is very well endowed.

may i suggest: the private driveway

san francisco: late at night, navigate to the very windy private driveway at broadway and broderick. ignore the do not enter signs and run down the curves as fast as you can. it's not my fault if some crazy pit bull attacks you.

may i suggest: lyon * pacific

san francisco: go to the center of the intersection of lyon and pacific, and turn to face each direction. stunning views. don't get hit by a car.

may i suggest: spider webs

if you ever come across a spider web, take a moment and spend some time observing how ridiculously amazing works of nature these things are. but watch out because there's probably some huge spider lurking about, and that scares the crap out of me.

may i suggest: sidewalking

while you're walking to wherever it is that you go, spend some time observing the side walk. there's often hidden treasures, patterns, and textures awaiting your attention. but look up every once in a while, you might run into something.
